Dev has been training with us since he was 4 years old.

His older sister started training with us first while young Dev would watch from the sidelines.  After a while Dev began to train with Coach Daren.  When reminiscing about young Dev’s training Coach Daren had this to say:

“Dev was so diligent in his training and became a master of the single leg takedown.  It got to the point that he would help assist me in teaching class because he was such a technician.  He is one of the most intelligent students I have, and he trains that way.  Being one of the smaller kids he trains smart to help him beat bigger and stronger kids.  He was doing wrestling at school for a while and had great success against the bigger kids using what he’d learned training in jiu jitsu.”

Dev is still going strong and is one of our Submission Samurai students.  He recently led the SBG Sandy Springs kids into the Copa America Jiu Jitsu competition, where SBG won the overall 1st place team medal!  Coach Sean Coleman had this to say about Dev:

“Dev is one of the most coachable kids that we have.  If you ask him to do something, he’ll do it.  On top of that, he’s always willing to pass his knowledge on to the other kids.  When I need one of the kids to assist me with something…it’s usually Dev.”

Dev and his sister are a staple in our Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing classes and great representatives of what SBG is all about!
